Writing Workshop
The CJHNTdigital invites you to a writing workshop aimed primarily at doctoral researchers (and, where applicable, also those writing examination or master’s theses, as well as habilitation candidates) working in the the Second Temple Judaism research field. From February 17 to 20, 2027, the program will center on collaborative writing in the Wintergarten of the Saxon Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Leipzig (or at the Faculty of Theology). Participants will have access to individualized or small-group mentoring with members of the CJHNTdigital team, a well-resourced thematic library, and the team’s specialized expertise. Ample opportunities for networking and professional exchange will be provided. Attendees are asked to deliver a ten-minute presentation of their projects at the outset of the event.
Registration is possible until 15 December 2026 via this link.
The event itself and the catering during breaks (snacks, specialty coffee, tea) are free of charge. Travel and accommodation must be organized and financed individually (a few free accommodation possibilities can be provided on request). We also warmly invite you to joint dinners and a small cultural program to allow for further conversations and networking. We look forward to seeing you!
In addition to our broad expertise in early Judaism, we are also happy to support you with our expertise in the following areas: Pauline studies, ecotheology, antijudaism in the history of exegesis, cognitive narratology, ancient languages (Ancient Greek, Latin, (Middle) Hebrew, Aramaic, Coptic, Ge’ez, Old Church Slavonic, Syriac), apocalyptic literature, ancient philosophy, cognitive studies of religion, masculinity and animal studies, and digital humanities.
