How we work

Our Authors/Volume Editors

Each volume editor is responsible for one or more thematically related books of the New Testament. They may work on their volume as sole author or together with additional authors. Student research assistants provide further support within these small teams. For more information about our authors and team members, please click here.

Peer Review and Quality Control

Commentary entries are written either by individuals or by multiple contributors. An internal peer review by at least one additional person is optional during the drafting process, but mandatory upon completion. This review may be carried out:

a) by the members present at the Jour Fixe (i.e. the project directors, staff, editorial office leadership, and external authors and volume editors);
b) by the members of the small team or extended small team (e.g. the authors working on the Pauline letters);
c) by the volume editor.

After the entry has been uploaded to the development server, a second review is conducted by staff members (excluding the author), generally limited to formal correctness.

Entries by external authors are subject to an additional review by the editors (i.e. the project directors) prior to publication.

A further review may be carried out by invited external reviewers.
